EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Trojans volleyball team were looking to cap off the regular season with back-to-back wins, but the Edmonds Tritons got in the way of doing so.
The Tritons were in control for most of Friday’s matchup, but they were unable to stop the Trojans in the third set.
However, a strong 7-0 start in the following set by the Tritons, it was enough to lock up the 3-1 win (25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 25-15) on the Trojans’ Sophomore Night at Walt Price Fitness Friday.
Although their overall record was 12-18, the Trojans end the Northwest Athletic Conference with seven wins and five losses. Good enough to finish third in the North Region standings (Edmonds finished in first) and a playoff berth to boot.
Both teams now shift their mind on postseason play as they’re heading into NWAC Regionals next weekend in Oregon with the goal of advancing into the Elite 8.
For Everett, they’ll be facing Linn-Benton Saturday, November 15 at 10 a.m. PT. Meanwhile, Edmonds will have their opening playoff match against either SWOCC or Lane at 1:00 p.m. PT.
